inspiration: i could really use a wish right now

A little over a year ago, I visited Italy for the Venice Film Festival. This was my first trip overseas, so the whole experience was amazing and slightly overwhelming! Of all of the MANY museums I visited, one of my favorites ended up being the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice. It had a small but inspiring collection in Peggy's old Venice "house" along one of the beautiful canals.

One exhibit that stuck with me the most was Yoko Ono's Wish Tree. This is one of many tree's that Ono has around the world to spread peace and inspire hope.

I recently took a trip to Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles and saw that they had their own version of a Wish Tree, only their's had beautiful colored pieces of paper for you to write your wishes on.

{Wish Tree in Little Tokyo - love the colors!}

I thought to myself that this would be a GREAT idea for a wedding, shower or birthday party! It's interactive so that it gives your guest something to do, it makes for gorgeous colorful party decor AND you can read everyones wishes for you after the event! BRILLIANT!

Think of all the fun lights, colors and sparkly things you can add to the tree as well - cheap and gorgeous!

What do you think? Would you have a wish tree at your party?
